General Waiver | Timing Chip Acknowledgement

We hereby for ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims for damages We may have against Belize Botanic Gardens, the The Roots & Routes Trail 10K Relay (R&R), its affiliates, subsidiaries, and their respective directors, employees, and sponsors, coordinating groups and any individuals associated with R&R on 19th July, 2026, their representatives, successors and assigns, and will hold them harmless for any and all injuries suffered in connection with this event.
We attest that we are physically fit to compete in this event. We are fully aware of the risks and hazards inherent in participating in the Event and hereby elects to voluntarily participate, knowing the risks associated with the Event. We hereby assume all risks of loss(es), damage(s), or injury(ies) that may be sustained by us, or child(ren) while participating in the Event.
Further, we hereby grant full permission to any and all of the foregoing to use our likeness in all media including, but not limited to photographs, broadcasts, newspapers, brochures, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose without compensation.
We acknowledge the Event is an environmentally friendly race and that water pouches, disposable plastic water bottles, or disposable drinking cups are NOT ALLOWED on the course, and we must bring our own reusable drinking utensil for hydration. Failure to bring our own utensils may results in us not getting desired hydration.
We acknowledge that the entry fee paid is non-refundable and non-transferable. We also acknowledge and agree that the R&R, in its sole discretion, may delay or cancel the Event if it believes the conditions on the race day are unsafe. In the event the Event is delayed or cancelled for any reason, including but not limited to: fire, threatened or actual strike, labor difficulty, work stoppage, insurrection, war, public disaster, flood, unavoidable casualty, acts from the Government, acts of God or the elements (including without limitation, rain, hail, hurricane, tornado, earthquake), or any other cause beyond the control of the R&R there shall be no refund of any costs of athlete in connection with the Event.
We acknowledge the race is chip-timed, and that we will be given a timing chip which we must returned after the event, if we don’t, we will be charge and will pay $175 to replace our non-returned timing chip.
We understand WE MUST present ourselves personally with our valid ID cards to pick up our race packet and that no one else is authorized to do so on our behalf.
WE HAVE READ THE FOREGOING AND INTENTIONALLY AND VOLUNTARILY AGREE TO THIS RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT BY CHECKING THE CHECKBOX OPTIONS ON THE REGISTRATION FORM WHICH ALLOWED MY REGISTRATION TO BE SUBMITTED.
