Join us for our 13th Annual End of the World Marathon & Half Marathon

ABOUT EoW:

The End of the World Marathon was started to raise money for Belizean education. From the beginning, all proceeds have gone towards funding the Placencia Rotary Club High School Scholarship program for Belizean youth.

Due to the success of our fundraising efforts, the generous donations from our sponsors, as well as the successful efforts of the Placencia Rotary Club student mentors, we have been able to extend the initial high school scholarship program beyond high school to university and vocational trade schools.

Over the past 12 years the EoW has funded more than 100 four-year high school scholarships, 30 university scholarships, and 20 vocational trade school scholarships.

If you would like to make a donation towards the scholarship program, please click the button below, (you will be redirected to PayPal).

TIMING:

  • Each runner’s time is important to them and to us as well, hence, to accurately measure runners’ times, we’ll using timing transponders.  The marathon will be mass start with the OFFICIAL time being gun-time (meaning everyone gets the same start time, you are ranked in the order you finish). The half marathon will be mass start with OFFICIAL time chip-time (meaning your time starts when you cross over the sensor at the starting line and end when you cross the sensor at the finish line, you are rank by least time, not the order of how you finish).

HYDRATION:

  • There will be about twenty (20) hydration stations, along the 13.1 course.   Runners can bring there own hydration.

FINISH AREA:

  • Runners must return the timing chip  immediately after finishing the race, a sign will let you know where to drop off your chip,
  • You pick up your medal after your timing chip is returned.
  • Runners/spectators are not to hang out at the timing desk area.

AWARD CEREMONY:

  • A ceremony will be held to award trophies and prizes
