“Your World is Our World” – A Charity Event

 A Charity Event for children at the Cayo Deaf Institute

We would like to brighten the smiles on the faces of the children at the Cayo Deaf Institute, but we need your help to do so.

The Cayo Deaf Institute is a boarding school that accepts children with hearing and speech impairment from all over the country of Belize and all walks of life.

The school is in the Countryside of Cayo. The staff is made up of volunteers that dedicate their time in teaching these children sign language as well as skills to help them be able to go into society and be successful despite their disabilities.

We took a drive to the school and had the amazing opportunity to meet the exemplary staff and the children.

Though it is heartwarming to see there is a school that is doing their best to help integrate these children into society, we were saddened to know that due to the lack of funds they constantly face, there are commodities the school has not been able to afford.

For this reason, we would like your help in making a monetary donation towards building a playground, for the children to play at, and a multi-purpose center for the children to be able to attend school events without having to stand under the scorching sun or get sick because of unexpected rain falling during an event.  We could only imagine the disappointment that the children experience when the school is forced to postpone or cancel an event due to bad weather.

We are organizing a 7KM Run and a Half Marathon Relay to raise funds for the playground and the multi-purpose center.

We invite you to register for the event, as all proceeds will go towards this project for the children. We know that due to some of your busy schedules you may be unable to be a part of the run. For this reason, we have setup this page, so that you can still contribute to the cause by making a monetary donation.
