DESCRIPTION:Roots & Routes 2-Person Trail 10K Relay hosted by Roxy Lemus and Belize Botanic Gardens\nThe garden protects Belize’s native plants\, wildlife habitats\, and biodiversity.\nIt’s a space for education\, kids’ programs\, and community learning.  Trails\, research and conservation work all this needs constant maintenance and funding. This race brings people into the space to experience it. \n\n  \nGOLD SPONSOR\n \nSILVER SPONSOR\n \nBRONZE SPONSOR\n             \n  \nPATRON\n                               \n  \nREGISTRATION / PAYMENT DEADLINE: \n\nJune 03\, 2026 (late registration now has an administration fee\n\nEVENT DATE: \n\nSunday\, July 19th\, 2026\n\nSTART TIME: \n\n5:30 am\n\nDISTANCE: \n\n5K (3.1 mls) each person same trail\n\nENTRY FEE: \nRegistration fees are non-refundable\, and non-transferable. \n\n$90 (for the team)\n\nWAIVER: \n\n Click > WAIVER  to view it.\n\nSTART / FINISH LOCATION: \n\nBelize Botanic Gardens\, Cayo\n\nROUTE: \n\nCan’t be explained\, follow the signs\n\nTERRAIN: \n\nTrail\, natural earth\, hills\, (might be muddy if rained before)\n\n \nCATEGORIES: \n\nWomen\nMen\nCo-Ed\n\nYour relay partner must me present\, otherwise it’s DNS\, and NO you can’t do it alone! \n T-SHIRT: \n\nNo\n\nAWARDS: \n\nTop 3 in each category\nTrophies for top 3 in each category\nCustom Finisher Medal for all finishers\n\nREGISTRATION: \n\nRegistration: CLOSED!!\nPromotion for Running Clubs ends April 30th\, 2026\nDeadline is Wednesday\, Jun 03rd\, 2026 at 5:30pm (you must be registered before 5:30pm otherwise it’s late).\n\nAny person who show up taking the position of a runner who didn’t show up will be an automatic disqualification. \nCHECK-IN / PACKET PICKUP: \n\nSaturday\, July 18th at Victor Galvez Stadium\, 5:30 pm to 7 pm\n\nTIMING: \n\nChip timed\, net time being official ranked\n\nSTART LINE: \n\nBBG\nStaggered start to avoid crowding\n\nHYDRATION: \nThis is an environmental friendly race\, let’s keep the trails free of any potential or accidental littering. \n\nNo water pouches\, disposable plastic water bottles\, or disposable drinking cups allowed on the course.\nEVERYONE is encouraged to bring their own reusable drinking utensil\, you can refill for hydration and after race refreshments\nIf you will need hydration during the course\, it’s highly recommended to bring your reusable sports bottle\, Yeti cup\, etc you feel comfortable holding in your hard or carrying on your running belt.\nThere will be 2 locations on course where you can get refills.  (these will be poured into your reusable drinking container).\n\nFINISH AREA: \n\nRunners must return the timing chip immediately after finishing the race\, indicate to the person responsible to collect them that you are doing so.\n\nAWARD CEREMONY: \n\nShort ceremony will be held to award prizes and medals.\n\nNOTE:  \nAfter you submit your registration\, an automatic email will be sent to you with additional information.  If you don’t see it in your inbox\, please check the junk/spam folder or promotions tab.   If it is not there\, the email maybe be delayed\, your mailbox is full  or you entered your email address incorrectly.
