DESCRIPTION:Run for the Reef 8 Miles Race and 2 Miles Run/Walk\n\n\nEvery year during the first week of March\, Belize celebrates Reef Week. This year\, Reef Week will be celebrated under the theme: Fi We Reef\, Fi We Roots: Connecting Communities\, Empowering Youth. In commemoration of Reef Week\, a Run for the Reef will be hosted in Belize City on March 14th. \n\nREGISTRATION / PAYMENT DEADLINE: \n\nMarch\, 11th\,  2026\nCLOSED!!  RACE FULL!!\n\nEVENT DATE: \n\nSaturday\, 14th March\, 2026\n\nSTART TIME: \n\n6:00 am\n\nDISTANCE: \n\n8 miles (12.87K) Race\n2 miles (3.22K) Run/Walk\n\nCONTRIBUTION: \n\n$20 (proceeds go towards Reef Week activities)\n\nSTART / FINISH LOCATION: \n\nMemorial Park\, Belize City\n\n8 MILES RACE ROUTE: \n\nStart at Memorial Park\,\nContinue on Marine Parade\nUnto Princess Margaret Drive\nPass Btl Park\, pass Marion Jones\,\nTurn Right on University Drive (going  into West Landivar)\nTurn left on Chancellor Ave (the second street)\nTurn left on Blue Marlin Ave (by Healthcare Partners)\nTurn Right on Durgeon Dr (by Abraham)\nContinue all the way to the end\nTurn Left on Seashore Drive\nTurn left on Independence Drive (end of pavement)\nGo all the way to the end where it meets Phillip Goldson Highway\nU Turn at the intersection with the Phillip Goldson Highway\nCome back the same way.\nEnd at Memorial Park\n\n \n2 MILE RUN/WALK ROUTE: \n\nStart at Memorial Park\nContinue on Marine Parade\nUnto Princess Margaret Drive\nTo the end of Princess Hotel Fence\nMake a U-turn\nCome back the same way\nFinish at Memorial Park\n\nTERRAIN: \n\nPaved and concrete roads\n\nCATEGORIES: \n\nMen / Women – Open\n\nT-SHIRT: \n\nYes  – First come first served\n\nAWARDS: \n\nFinisher medal\nPlaque  for top 3 men / women in 8 miles race\n\nREGISTRATION: \n\nRegistration: CLOSED!!\nRegistration will only be done online\nNo late registrations\nNo registration on day of the event\nDeadline is Wednesday\, March 11th\, 2026 at 5:30 pm.\nRACE IS FULL!\n\nAfter registration is closed\, there will be no modifications\, transfers\, or swaps.  Any person who show up taking the position of a runner who didn’t show up will be an automatic disqualification. \nCHECK-IN / PACKET PICKUP: \n\nCheck-In and packet pickup will be done before the event.  Your race bib and timing chip will be included.\n\nTIMING: \n\nEach runner’s time is important to them and to us as well\, hence\, to accurately measure runners’ times\, we’ll using ProChip Timers. Timing method will be gunshot whereby all participants receive the same start time. Your time will be stopped when you cross the sensor at the finish line.\n\nSTART LINE: \n\nRunners will line on the street behind the stage at Memorial Park\n\nHYDRATION: \nThere will be 3 hydration stations at every 2 miles \n\nAt Marion Jones (also serves for the return)\nAt the U-turn location\n\nFINISH AREA: \n\nRunners must return the timing chip immediately after finishing the race\, a sign will let you know where to drop off your chip\, indicate to the volunteer nearby that you are doing so.\n\nAWARD CEREMONY: \n\nShort ceremony will be held to award plaques and medals.\n\nNOTE:  \nAfter you submit your registration\, an automatic email will be sent to you with additional information.  If you don’t see it in your inbox\, please check the junk/spam folder or promotions tab.  If it is still not there\, you may have entered your email address incorrectly\, please ask us to confirm\, or register again and get a new code.
