The CROC RUN 2026 is more than just a race. It is a community event that brings together fitness, conservation, and education on the Placencia Peninsula.

Every step you take supports the work of the Crocodile Research Coalition (CRC), helping fund vital education and outreach programs across Belize.

Why We Run

Funds raised through the CROC RUN directly support CRC’s conservation efforts, with a strong focus on education and youth development through our Next Gen Croc program.

Next Gen Croc empowers young Belizeans through mentorship, hands-on experiences, and real-world exposure to science and conservation. By investing in young people today, we are helping shape the future leaders of Belize’s environmental movement.

CRC believes that education is the foundation of conservation. Especially when it comes to misunderstood species like crocodiles. With your support, we can continue expanding our outreach beyond the Stann Creek District and into more communities across the country.

• go north up to near Naia Resort
• U-Turn
• Finish at the Basketball Court

5K Fun Run

• Start at the Placencia Basketball Court
• go north up to Turtle Inn Resort
• U-Turn
• Finish at the Basketball Court

TERRAIN:

• Asphalt and some concrete

COSTUME CHALLENGE:

• Extra fun! We’ll be awarding surprise prizes for the best costumes. Costumes are completely optional- but highly encouraged if you’re feeling creative or want to show off your Halloween costume early!

REGISTRATION:

Any person who presents him/herself taking the position of a runner who didn’t show up will be an automatic disqualification.

CHECK-IN / PACKET PICKUP:

• Details will be shared ahead of the event. Race packets include your bib and timing chip and can be picked up at the basketball court before the start of the race. Be on time!

TIMING:

HALF MARATHON

• Professionally timed using chip timing. The race will follow a mass start (gun time).

5K Fun Run

• Not timed. First finishers & best costumes win.  Have fun and enjoy the run!

START LINE:

• In front of the in front of the basketball court facing north

HYDRATION & SUPPORT:

• Several water stations will be available along the route to keep you hydrated and energized.
• Snacks and refreshments will be provided at the finish line.

FINISH AREA:

• Half marathon runners must return their timing chip immediately after finishing. Volunteers will be there to assist.

AWARD CEREMONY:

• A short celebration will take place after the race to recognize top finishers.
