Funds are going to benefit our education outreach program, inducing our Placencia-based wildlife youth program “Next Gen Croc” and outreach events throughout the country.  Next Gen Croc is a program to provide a strong foundation and mentorship to local  youth who are interested in pursuing science or conservation.  Our intention with  this program is to foster the next generation of Belizean environmental leaders.  CRC believes that education and outreach are the basis for conservation, especially for misunderstood species like crocodiles.  Currently, most of our outreach has been within the Stann Creek District. We are hoping to use the funds from this event to extend our outreach to both children and adults across Belize.

INTERNATIONAL VIRTUAL PARTICIPANTS:

CHECK-IN / PACKET PICKUP:

• Check-In and packet pickup will be done before the event.  Your reg packet will include your race bib and timing chip.

TIMING:

HALF MARATHON

• Each runner’s time is important to them and to us as well, hence, to accurately measure runners’ times, we’ll using ProChip Timers.  The race will be mass start with the OFFICIAL time being gun-time (meaning everyone gets the same start time, you are ranked in the order you finish). Only the half marathon race will be timed.

5K Fun Run

• No timing

START LINE:

• In front of the Flying Pig facing north

HYDRATION:

• Hydration will be provided, We should have 3 hydration stations along the course. Hydration stations will serve for going and returning.
• Snacks will be served after the marathon/run.

FINISH AREA:

• Runners must return the timing chip immediately after finishing the race, a sign will let you know where to drop off your chip, indicate to the volunteer nearby that you are doing so.

AWARD CEREMONY:

• Short ceremony will be held to award finishers.
