RUN GREEN – RUN CLEAN: Marathon+1 & Relay in support of recycling and no littering!

hosted by Foothills Runners and Esperanza Village in Cayo District

CONCEPT AND INITIATIVE:

• Support for roadside clean-up along the circuit and separation of recyclables. The event also encourages NO LITTERING during the race. The Circuit is 27.2 miles, hence Marathon+1, can be done individually or 2-person relay each running half the distance. Each year the start/finish location cycles at different villages on the circuit.
• 2024 host > Cristo Rey Village
• 2025 host > San Antonio Village

Anyone caught littering will result in an immediate DISQUALIFICATION!

WAIVER:

• All participants participating in-person are required to submit a waiver /acknowledgement /consent form and bring it personally along with an ID when picking up your race packet.  Please download, print and sign, a hand written signature is required. Please read through it before signing.

• Thursday, January 22th, 2026 (late registration now has an administration fee)

• 5:30 am both Individual and Relay

• Start at Joan Garbutt Softball Field, Esperanza
• Head towards Georgeville
• Right turn on Chiquibul Road
• Continue to 7 Miles
• Right turn into San Antonio Road
• Pass San Antonio
• Continue towards Cristo Rey
• Continue towards Santa Elena
• Right turn on George Price Highway (by Min of Works Compound)
• Finish at Joan Garbutt Softball Field

• Paved roads, hills galore

REGISTRATION:

Any person who presents him/herself taking the position of a runner who didn’t show up will be an automatic disqualification and the runner who had their bib/chip used will be banned from future events.

CHECK-IN / PACKET PICKUP:

• Check-In and packet pickup will be done before the event.  Your reg packet will include your race bib and timing chip.

TIMING:

• Each runner’s time is important to them and to us as well, hence, to accurately measure runners’ times, we’ll using ProChip Timers.  Both races will be mass start with the OFFICIAL time being gun-time (meaning everyone gets the same start time, you are ranked in the order you finish).

START LINE:

• Joan Garbutt Softball Field, facing East

HYDRATION:

• Every 2 miles (same locations as previous years)

FINISH AREA:

• Runners must return the timing chip immediately after finishing the race, a sign will let you know where to drop off your chip, indicate to the volunteer nearby that you are doing so.

AWARD CEREMONY:

• Short ceremony will be held to award finishers.
